The Shrieking Ghost or Shaking Ghost is an animated Halloween decoration originally made in 1993-1997 and remade in 2002-2005. The item can be hung from a ceiling or similar object. It has the appearance of a classic, white sheet ghost with a smiling face. When activated by sound, the ghost begins to shake as it makes spooky moaning sounds.

- 1993 - 1994 models have 2 different moaning sounds (both repeated 2 times) while 1995 - 1997 models only have 1 moaning sound (repeated 4 times).
- This item has the same head mold as the Shaking/Shrieking Grim Reaper and Floating Ghost underneath the cloth. There are some that have a Pumpkin head mold instead of the Skull mold.
- Some 1993 - 1994 models have the same "eerie" sound as the original, smaller shaking ghosts from 1991 - 1992. These model were retailed under the name "Eerie Ghost" and ran on 2 AA batteries, unlike other models which take 3 AA batteries.
- 1993 - 1994 models have a latch on the battery cover that holds it shut while 1995 - 1997 models have a small screw that holds it shut.
- The 2002 - 2004 remake models have the same "eerie" soundtrack as the 1991 - 1992 Shaking Ghosts. These remake models were retailed under the name "Floating Shrieking Ghost". The 2005 model has the same moaning soundtrack as the Floating Ghost, Floating Grim Reaper and others from the Floating Ghouls series. =====
- The item was remade again in 2009, exclusively for CVS stores. This model was retailed under the name "Floating Ghost" and has the same soundtrack as the previous 2005 model.
- A standing version was made in 2001 - 2003 that has a swaying motion. It include a pair of weighted shoes and a short pole that connects underneath the head. The soundtrack on this version is the same as the Vampire in The Coffin from 1994 (scary music and screaming noises). Retailed under the name "Shrieking Ghost" it has a different face (evil smile) though the box shows it with the same face as the normal hanging, shaking versions. The head mold underneath the cloth is the same mold as the Floating Friendly Ghost and the Giggle Buddies.
- A small version was made in 1993 - 1995 with a different smiling face and the "Eerie" soundtrack. It either lit up green or flashed (strobed) green. Some models also had a regular white (orange) light.
